From 1 April 2024, Isabelle Palstra has become head of the AMOLF NanoLab in Amsterdam. She joined the steering committee of NanoLabNL per 1 June 2023. She succeeds Hans Zeijlemaker, who will retire in the autumn of 2024.
“The strength of the AMOLF NanoLab Amsterdam lies in the large diversity of techniques that can be applied in a small-scale lab. We are personal, small-scale and still have a strong lab position.” – Isabelle Palstra.
Isabelle Palstra obtained her PhD in 2021 in the Resonant Nanophotonics Group of Prof Dr Femius Koenderink at AMOLF. After her PhD, she started as project leader at the AMOLF Nanolab, focusing on the Quantum Delta NL growth fund programme, supporting the acquisition of large-scale equipment and coordinating the renovations of the cleanroom. From 1 April, Isabelle has taken over Hans’ responsibilities as a lab head and is, in addition, a member of the NanoLabNL steering committee. Welcome, Isabelle!
